Description | These are HARD. I mean really, REALLY hard, unless it's just me. Having beaten a few building freefall missions relatively easily (with the exception of an annoying bug - see my bug report on that issue) I tried my first underground freefall mission. I got MURDERED. One problem is the background color - it makes the mines hard to visually distinguish at a glance, something you need to do really quickly because of the other issue: The falling rubble. If the rubble just fell, the mission would still be harder than the building version but be survivable. But the exploding rubble is timed so that the explosion takes up most of the bottom of the screen as you reach it - typically leaving only small safe zones. That are inevitably filled with mines. Maybe it's just a difference in skill, but I find the underground missions as they are to be virtually impossible. One idea, if you want to keep the level of brutality, would be the make the underground missions considerably shorter than the building missions. That way the underground freefalls are short but intense, while the buildings ones are more leisurely. EDIT: Another thought - the mines in the underground version should be ice mines, so that you can make them bright blue-white or some other color that really sharply stands out against a brown background. | ||||

They haven't been balanced at all yet, don't worry -- we aren't intending to leave them this way, we just got sidetracked with other stuff today. It's on my hit-list for tomorrow! |
