Summary0008018: Cloaked Vampire Claws impossible to reveal
DescriptionIn my latest multiplayer game I've found an extremely frustrating bug that renders Vampire Claws (and possibly other invisible units) impossible to reveal if they aren't attacking.

On a planet I've already captured, there's a group of about 50 of them, sitting idle, right outside of my Mk2 Military Orbital Command Station. The orbital command is shooting 50 tachyon beams at them, but they're not being revealed. So I built 2 tachyon drones on top of them. Still nothing. So I moved 5 Scout Starships to their location. Still nothing. So I built 15 tachyon turrets over top of them as well to no effect.

For reasons you can guess, having 50 Vampire Claws sitting right beside your orbital command station that you can't do anything about is extremely unnerving.

Also, Tachyon Warhead has no effect. Link to the save in the comments.

Please fix for next patch if you can.

I think this can effect other military cloaked ships as well, as we have had reports of other cloaked military ships showing similar behaviour. It seems a bit more likely to happen with military ships that aren't normally cloaked, like the Stealth Master AI or something.

EDIT: In any case, yea, a pretty huge bug. Not sure if it is a drop everything and fix ASAP level bug, but probably something that should be looked at soon.

I'm guessing that the save file is supposed to be more than 46 bytes? That's what rapidshare sent me when I tried to download it :)

I mean, I know our compression is pretty good, but...

For 5.036 (not the one that just came out, sorry) :

* Vampire claws are now immune to being camouflaged by the Camouflager AI Type because the combination of melee and cloaking didn't work very well there (could wind up with non-decloakable enemy vampire claws just sitting on your planet for a long time).

It wasn't really a bug; tachyon coverage isn't supposed to penetrate camouflage, it just tells you where a cloaked ship is. The less desirable thing was that apparently melee-cloaked-camouflage stuff is really unlikely to attack anything. Those claws were also zombies, which I think may be playing into their reluctance.
