Probably there is another copy of the server running in the background on your machine -- the text not appearing properly on that early of a start is something we need to resolve, but the actual error itself is probably that the old server is running and blocking the port on your machine, so this new server can't start. If you kill all other instances of AVWW.exe on your machine you should be good to go! |

Yeah, I've only seen that when I have another version of the game open. I just tested 1.018 now, and it worked fine for me. Double check, if we're wrong and you only have the one copy open, let us know, otherwise, I'll close this for now. |

Still doesn't work. No extra AVWW.exe open. Restarted computer, restarted modem. No dice. Oops, I didn't mean to mark this as "feedback," unless that's how Mantis works. I'm not really sure. Just noticed that sometimes it doesn't even show the dialog box. Instead, it just shows a box in the upper-left corner and no buttons or anything. It gets cut off. That happens the first time, and is completely frozen. From then on, it shows a button and is in the center. |

That is very very odd. Can you play the game in single player normally? I'm wondering if maybe a re-install might be necessary. |

Note that in a recent version we fixed the issue with the text being blank, so we should at least be able to see the error message now. |
