Summary | 0007516: Bat form adjustments
Description | As it stands right now, bat form is useful for a few things. It's useful for exploration (though a lot less in windstorms now), escape, and possibly a few mission types, like lava escape, supply depot, or journey to perfection. The 95% reduction to damage, however, is not the best way, in my eyes, to limit it's effectiveness in combat. I suggest that bat form reduces mana regeneration by a huge amount, or possibly max mana, or both. Damage could still be reduced it turns out to be neccessary. Perhaps reduced to half or a quarter. This would allow a player to use bat form in combat, while still having a drastically reduced potential damage output. The advantage of this system is it would allow a player to harvest resources more efficiently, and possibly be slightly more effective in a limited few combat situations (for example, in a battleground mission where one tower is in a very difficult spot to attack without being shot, a player could switch to bat form to get a better angle on the tower) Alternatively, all cooldowns could be increased by some large factor, effectively accomplishing the same goal, but without disabling some super-heavy spells like meteor shower or creeping death. If you would rather stick with the current method for bat form, then I suggest that summon spells, which currently operate at full effectiveness as a bat, are somehow reduced in bat form.

Thanks! * Player bats no longer have their attack power reduced to 5% of their former values. Now their mana recharge rate is reduced to 10% of its normal value instead. ** This makes player bats more viable for combat in most ways, but it also means that they still have a huge disadvantage to go along with their greatly-increased mobility. |
