Summary | 0007459: Stuck in the Deep Sea without a ship
Description | I'm playing on a friends server. I was moving around the continent in a square pattern, (along the borders of the world map) and i came back to the dock to go back to land. There must have been some lag between me and the server, I remember my connection becoming wobbly about this time. When I tried to dock (with the interact button) nothing happened, which is what usually happens when I'm being disconnected, of course. But instead of being disconnected, it had a delayed response, and it docked anyway, but while I was trying to go back out to Sea. So now I have apparently docked and then walked out into the ocean and now I can't move. I can't even warp to the settlement because it says I'm not close enough to any continent. And it won't even let me kill myself so i can pick a new character.

My friend and I worked out where the coordinates for the world map are stored in the World.dat file and editted the coordinates so my character is back at 0,0. |

In the escape menu there's actually an option that takes you back to 0,0 if that happens again. I forget what the name of the option is, but it's for just these sort of mishaps. Not that this should happen in general, but as a failsafe. Sorry about that! |

@ x4000: it seems that the "warp to settlement" button did not work, because he was in deep ocean, which is not associated with any continent, and therefore cannot warp. Perhaps the current functionality should change so that when at deep sea, the button defaults to continent 1 settlement? |

Thanks! * If you manage to somehow get stuck out at sea without a boat, or some other craziness that gets your character literally stuck on the world map, the game now automatically take you back to the origin point and makes sure you are not in a ship. |
