Summary0007434: Multiplayer spells should be pooled
Descriptiona new player should never have to recraft every spell when joining a server. They should be pooled, and new players should just go to the crafting area to just choose what spells they want, any time someone ups the tier of a spell it should apply globally to all players on that continent.

The reason for that is as a new player, joining a server that's well into several continents/tiers is nearly impossible to play. If I want to catch up to the others I have to waste the resources they gathered or they have to drop them for me, this to me just plain doesn't make a single bit of sense.

I realized this when joining a new server that had only one continent, when I entered I noticed it was tier 4, but as a new player I could NOT craft anything higher then a tier 2 lighting ball. This type of mechanic completely takes out the feeling of co-operation for me!

I am sure there some balance issues with this, but I rather be able to play with others. then get slapped by the game just because I'm new to the server.

Nope, that doesn't work at all. We used to do it that way.

The reason is that players will want to specialize. Instead what already happens is far better: each player can use a copy of the tier orbs or whatever else to get exactly what they want. That way if you're specializing and green and I'm specializing in purple, we can use the same tier orbs to accomplish our individual goals.

When you join the server new, you get access to all the raw materials that everyone else already had -- check the settlement stockpiles and you'll see your copy of it would be loaded to the gills with stuff that everybody else already collected.

Yes this is true but this server didn't have any tier 3 orbs left, so I was stuck 2 tiers lower then the continent. And with no enchantments, it's nearly impossible to get the materials because monsters are just to powerful.

What I really want is to see something that would allow me if brand new, to be where everyone else is already at, then help from there. If I decide to rejoin then those benefits aren't there.

I don't want to change it across the board, I just want new player for a server to not have to be forced in a situation like I was. I rather see that I join in and not have to worry about this. My only concerns on joining a new server should be how I can help, not what I can't craft.

Perhaps brand new players can get access to like 5 spells leveled to the highest tier spell others have. after that it up to the player to pick and choose.

Tier orbs can't be used up by another player unless there is a bug. That's what I'm trying to say: if Player A picks up a tier 2 orb, then any player -- past or present on that server -- can all use a copy of that tier 2 orb. It doesn't matter what other players do, you get everything they found in terms of crafting ingredients.

The only way that the tier orbs would be missing is if nobody else had any either (such as using diluter enchants accidentally) or some sort of new bug that we're not aware of.

Ohhh ok I see what your getting at so then perhaps the server is at fault? maybe there a bug in this? I'll try another larger server and find out

The continent was tier 4 but I was unable to craft anything higher then tier 2 spells "fireball and lighting orb" I'll try this on another server, but I have seen this before, So I'll double check on other servers.

Well, one thing to note is that this may not be a bug at all. It may simply be a shortage of supplies. If the players on that world only got the supplies needed to craft fireball and lightning orb, but you want forest rage, then you'd still have to get the additional stuff for forest rage. But then any player joining after you would have access to immediately craft fireball, lightning orb, or forest rage.

We were as absolutely kind as possible with the design on the multiplayer to make it easier for many groups of players, in that all the resources are shared and each player gets a "copy" of each resource that is collected. But if they collect resources that are not the resources you really wanted for the spells you want, then you might still need to collect a few things despite having the needed tier orbs and such. It might be that you're just missing some earth essence since they never collected it, or something like that.

Yup that's what it is, it be nice if that was explained when you enter a new server. if it does I missed it somewhere!
