Summary | 0007423: Upgrade Reset
Description | What if there was a way to reset a character's stats to their original values? That way, players could test out the effects of each stat on gameplay without racking up a huge number of deaths.

I think that makes a good amount of sense. Probably as a somewhat rare spell scroll like elusion scrolls. Having players able to just constantly redo their upgrades isn't really something that I want to encourage too much. But some experimentation is also good. Hmm. Have you thought about doing glyph transfers with villagers and experimenting there? Just out of curiosity. Another way to do this might be to make it a two-stage process. So basically you allocate the points however you want, and you see the adjusted stats, but nothing actually changes until you hit confirm. That might be the easiest way of all to allow for the sort of experimentation you're talking about without also making it something that players can exploit. |
I've tried using the villagers, but the problem there is that they aren't guaranteed to have the same base stats as your character, or even each other. I like that second option. There was actually something like that in Mass Effect 1, and it worked brilliantly there. |

I would like a way to "retire" a character without killing them. Sometimes I want a new guy, but, man, the death part? Maybe in town, abandoning your character would just let you pick a new one without the gory parts. As for this, that action could refund you all (or part) of the upgrade stones spent on the previous guy. |
Hm... maybe there could be a special building that they could "retire" to? |
Guardian Power: Retirement Home. The thought of seeing that in game makes me giggle. Really, I like the idea. |
