DescriptionAlright.

Been playing a new game that I started when 3.719 came out with random AI's and one of the type I got was alarmist.

There's only one way in to my planet and that system has an adjacent alarm post two hops from my planet.

I go ahead and fort up my warp point rather then taking the alarm post out, the system with the alarm post is next on my list anyway.

I pop the command station adjacent to my system easily and the alarm post goes off. Every single ship (except for the command station and warp point guard posts) comes after me and I get almost 200 Mk III ships in the face at only the 40 minute mark.

Now, this is as intended as programmed, however with the removal of turrets you now get every ship in the system charging the human held systems rather then only the 1/3 to 1/2 the ships in the system you did when the immobile ships (turrets) could not come after you.

I just want to make sure that this has been looked at with the removal of the turrets.

It is very possible for me to deal with it as is, just note that an Alarm post will throw much bigger waves at you then in the SlimDX version.

This happened to me also and I'm inclined to agree it should be toned down a wee bit.

I know alarm posts are SUPPOSED to be a strategic pain but the presence of all those guardians ramps up the severity of that pain from manageable-with-the-right-planning to downright unbeatable in the early game. I had twenty-odd guardians swarm down my throat earlier today...

I've taken the liberty of cranking the severity of this up from trivial to minor.

For the next one:

* Alarm posts no longer cause guardians to give up their posts -- just the smaller ships.
