Description | There should be some abilities to promote intercontinental play. While I think Civilization Items should probably stay locked to their continent (to keep people pushing forward), there needs to be a reward for defeating the Overlord independent of access to a new continent since you can get the same effect by just starting a new game and independent from the basic unlocks since you can earn them on later continents anyways. I thinking something along the lines of Global Buildings or Global Guardian Abilities. You could build a single special building when a continent is completed (perhaps on top of the ruins of the Overlords tower, or even the Outposts) that provides a global buff along the lines of a minor enchant or access to a single item type. This would give the world a sense of progression beyond island hopping. | ||||

To a large extent that's what enchants already are -- well, and unlockables as well. But this is something that I'm interested exploring sometime in the coming months to be sure. It's not a super high priority in the very short term, but ultimately I want to have more cohesion between continents including reasons to go back to older continents. |
