Summary | 0007092: (extremely) low generation rate of rescue survivor missions
Description | The last time I found one was on friday and I have been playing practically non-stop since then (yeah, I tend to get a bit obsessed about things that are this awesome ^^). Haven't used a seek survivor scroll because my current continent was generated before the update fixed the profession distribution. Am I just having rotten luck or are there some prerequisites of which I am unaware?

Honestly, I had problems with that as well. What you can do (assuming you're on continent two, and continent one has what you need) is to use two or three glyph transfer scrolls to get the one you want there (two if you're not attached to your current character, three if you are). |

Are you not finding the survivor-specific mission rooms? They spawn most commonly underground, and any cave should have something like a 30% chance of having one. In the regular mix of just general survivor missions the chance is pretty low, yeah. But also the epically large building interiors (pyramids, etc) are more likely to have the specific survivor missions. It may be I need to up the frequencies on those, but I'm curious if you've actually been looking in those areas or for those kinds of rooms. They show up as an orange that is very close to the normal yellow. |

Ah, so that was my mistake. I only went into the caves to raid the gem-veins and then returned to the surface to scout as many buildings as possible in my search for survivors. Upon your recommendation I just explored a cave system and actually found a rescue survivor mission on the first try. Yeah, I'm feeling a bit stupid now... Though I've raided quite a number of pyramids on the hunt for Mystery Puzzle Rooms and didn't come across any rescue missions. And I don't think I missed any, since I have a bit of a problem with colours and look at the details of every room on the dungeon map because of it. @Toll: That is a brilliant Idea. I actually shuttled in a lumbermancer and an apothekinesisist before x4000 was kind enough to reveal to me my folly ^^ |

FYI, for 0.931: * Previously, apartment-style buildings had only a 1% chance of getting an NPC rescue mission entrance. Now it's 5%. ** Same for "large inn" interiors. ** For "office building" interiors it's moved from 1% to 8%. ** Really large or evil buildings (not overlord/lieutenant ones) previously had a 2% chance times the number of floors in the building. Now it's 6% times the number of floors. ** Just for the record, each underground cave system retains the same 30% chance of NPC rescue mission nodes that they already had. But a lot of people were looking in buildings instead of underground and coming up empty after even 5+ hours of searching in some reported cases. |
