Summary | 0000708: Support Core as a turtle type AI
Description | I noticed on bug 0000684 that you mentioned that shield ninnies and gravity drillers are considered turtling AI types by the reinforcement system. However, by comparing a turtle AI with a support core AI (by counting wormhole guard posts), the support core is not considered a turtling type AI. It just seems like it should be. Maybe the fortress baron AI type too. If you want more details about my dumb comparison, I can provide them.

I can see your thinking on that, and in some respects I'm tempted, but the AI types you mention are already pretty deadly and I don't know that I'd want to make them any moreso. While they are defensive-oriented, not every defensive-oriented AI type is inherently a turtle type as well. |

I definitly see why that would be with the fortress baron. Fortress and Superfortress spamming is hard enough to deal with. ;) Also, I guess the reason for not doing this for the support core is that the extra defense comes from the extra engineers and MRS. |
