Hmmmm, very odd. Was there anything different that happened when you killed him? I ask because while your world doesn't have the continent it should, I can't get this to repeat in my tests at all. |

Nothing that springs to mind... The only thing that I can think of was that I ran in and out of his room a dozen or so times back when the lieutenant was there (i.e. before this patch), but I can't see how that has anything to do with it. Otherwise it was pretty standard; enter room, shoot at him with stuff, kill him. |

Hmm. I did kill the Overlord through a headshot, in case that can have anything to do with it. |

I don't think the headshot would cause this. |

Yeah, me neither. I'm just grasping at straws here, trying to think of anything that could cause it. It was, for all intents and purposes, a textbook kill though. There weren't even any flames around when I killed it. |

I actually found an earlier version of the world and killed the Overlord again. Same result. Appending the world before I killed the last lieutenant. |

Oh, and this was done on a different computer as well, so I don't think it was caused by any quirk on my system. |

Toll, I just downloaded the world attached to the mantis record (haven't tried the link in your first comment yet) and one thing struck me as very odd: it's continent tier 1 and CP 0, despite there being a bunch of wind shelters, dead lieutenants, etc. No tier orbs in the settlement stockpile either. Does that sound even remotely right? |

Ohhhhh, now I see: that was the first continent, which might have been old enough to not have been around before continent tier and CP were in their current state. It's the second continent that you mean :) |

Was your forum post before or after you found the second continent, or were there other weird things with it too? |

It was before, so that weirdness I understand. But there's some other weirdness where the game thinks that the first continent's overlord is still alive. I assume you did, in fact, kill it? |

Hrm. That's odd, actually. On the big world, I went back to continent one and found the Overlord tower standing there. Entered it, and when mouse-overing, I was told it was dead (it was a blue room on the map as well). Entered it, and... somehow, the Overlord appeared? I've got no clue how I managed to get to continent two if I hadn't killed... Oh. Wait. I think I know what's going on here. Back in the day, the Overlord blocked you from entering the harbor, right, and the new continent was created piece-by-piece as I gained levels? And if the Overlord somehow bugged out and never appeared (just like the recent Lieutenant-fix took care of), then I probably would've been able to use the harbor to get to the new continent. Then you fix the lieutenants, and suddenly, the original Overlord is let loose again... Hrm. Could that have messed things up this badly? |

BTW, I'm trying to kill the original Overlord now (with tier one Ball Lightning, woo!) to see if anything Fun happens. |

Yea, I think this is just legacy-world-issue stacked on top of legacy-world-issue until it just refused to keep moving ;) Anyway, I've got a general upgrade-old-worlds to deal with an issue this revealed (that may not have been impacting you), but if you're still wanting to play this world I can clear the blockade for you and send your save back. Is the one attached to this mantis record the one you want? |

Or, of course, you could kill the first continent overlord, and it would be fine :) I think ;) |

Aha. I knew I had seen that Overlord room somewhere. It was so long ago I didn't even think about this one: 0005389. I guess they're both resolved? |

It's the first continent overlord I'm trying to kill :) And with my mighty tier one Lightning Ball and no damage shield, that went about as well as expected ("Whaddya mean I took 55 damage from one of his attacks?"). |

Don't worry about clearing the blockade, heh. I've started a new world since. |

Ah, ok. Well, sorry the bug interfered with that world, but there's always more planes to conquer ;) Thanks for helping us track this down. |

For 0.930: * Put in some upgrade-old-worlds-on-load logic that fixes a bug where some really old lieutenants and overlords weren't tied to their region in the same way as newly generated ones are, which was probably causing issues with it not detecting their presence/death properly, at least in relation to the relevant outpost/lair. |
