Summary | 0006538: Mark the tile I last teleported from
Description | Often I find myself teleporting back to the map and then going to my base to heal, at which point I don't remember where I was before. I have to check several tiles marked 'visited' to find which one I came from, so I can continue exploring whatever I was exploring. What would be really nice is a marker showing where I last came from. Perhaps the tile could turn a different shade signifying where I last was (perhaps brighter). Even better, perhaps, would be a range of markings for different tiles showing a bit of a history of which places I visited. Normal brightness would signify a never-visited tile, and tiles could get brighter and brighter up to the tile I just visited, which would be brightest.

would be good to have this for regions as well, of course ignoring towns so you can go home, heal, and then come back and see at once where you came from. The new 'visited' tag helpis a lot but I still get lost |

This problem gets worse the more tiles you uncover via windmills. My suggestion is to put the glyph picture on tiles you visit, and have them fade away every time you visit a new tile, with a maximum memory of say, 4 tiles. |

I finally came up with a better solution. Now that we have the expanded info bar at the bottom, that could be the place that indicates when you're on a tile you visited recently. One idea is to just put the time last visited in the bar. This would be the easiest to implement. Another idea is to perhaps place a burning glyph image. The colors would correspond to how recently you visited the tile, and would be known from our regular interaction with the glyph (ie. taking damage). A bright, white glyph would indicate a tile you just visited. A red, faded glyph would indicate a region you visited 5 tiles ago. The glyph image could be superimposed on the region type graphic, or it could just stand on its own. |
