Description | Starships are extremely powerful now that they have 10x the health, and since at least one starship is involved in every wave, and at the same time more likely to attack your planets, you are completely at their mercy in the early game. A single starship will cause you endless headaches, not to mention two. All you need to do is to scout an AI planet once, and you are hit with 1-3 starships and if you are unlucky, a couple of guardians as well. Early in the game you have literally no way of countering this, save for fleetship spam, and even then it takes 10 minutes at least to kill a single starship. | ||||

I haven't tried after the balance-destroyer update, but is it feasible to unlock Siege Starship MkI and build one of those to knock out the enemy starship? |

It might not work depending on the starship since they used to have bonuses against starship_all but that doesn't exist anymore. But they have a decent bonus against Command_grade which should help for most of them. Anyway, that will be useful info, but there basically shouldn't be any "mandatory" unlocks just to survive the very-early-game. We know there's more balancing to be done :) For reference, is it hugely problematic even when you get a Light Starship or is just the heavier ones or more specialized ones that are such a pain? |

So far I've been up against Leech and Light, and both were major pain in the behind to kill, especially the Leech. I got hit with two of those and they managed to reclaim almost half of my fleet before I got them down. |

Siege starships are no longer useful vs starships - they do less than 100k damage.. honestly, the reason to unlock siege is to knock the engines out of hostile fleet starships that come through. Also, at this point it seems that missile turrets are a mandatory unlock anyway - now that turrets have specific roles, it seems odd that you need to unlock a certain turret just to kill a triangle unit. (Note: MRLS mk1 do INSANE damage to neutron hull fleet starships, almost 1 million a volley) |

Yeah, I'll crank up the swivel starships even more. Also, I plan to have mark I leech, raid, and siege, and bomber starships not require unlock for the players. A much later arsenal, even if players never unlock more starships. |

I have to agree that starships are OP at the moment aswell. The first wave to hit me included a flagship. Everything else died then it took me probably 6 minutes of gametime to destroy said flagship with a shipcap of Mk I fighters, a few bombers and a single flagship of my own. I went pure starship to test how good they are now this game, my offensive fleet consists of 3x Flagship and 2x Zenith Starship. I've taken out 4 AI planets now and I didn't even notice the defences. A Mk II world with 200+ ships on it should at least reduce one of my ships below 90%. I'm only attacking with 5 of them. It's probably not actually that bad, I wasn't actually taking notes. But what finally stopped my starship fleet was a planet with 22 hybrids on it, the AI forces certainly weren't slowing me down at all. I had yet to reach a Mk III or higher world mind you. With 73 million HP though, I don't see my Zenith's dying to anything. I'm just glad the AI has only thrown flag's and siege's at me in the waves, I can kill those, if slowly. |

Probably the starships do need a bit of a need also. Typo above brought to you by apple computer, there is no swivel starship. ;) But players will, at last, get the bomber ones. |

At the same time, I have to note that don't nerf them without thought. My Siege Starship just got one-volleyed by 6 Mk III bombers. |
