Summary | 0006503: Possible bug in mission generation
Description | Well, I am not sure if it is bug or feature. If I have node (surface node in my case) with secret mission entrance, it gives me secret mission. Surprise! :) But... if I abandon this mission, it immediately regenerates again on the same place, but with different rooms inside. Is it must be so? I suppose that it would be some interval between missions... no? ---addition--- Oops, it's not the secret, but "standard" mission that was generated in chunk while I adventured in caves. (Easy to spot, eh? ;)

This isn't a bug. Missions are never saved to disk, so they will never be the same. |
Err... Sorry, it seems my English failed again. I have no problem with fact of "new" rooms for mission. My problem is logic behind change itself. With all this warnings I am expecting that if I'll abandon mission, it will gone forever. At least, it will be unavailable for some time. Actual logic "if you'll leave mission zone then you will immediately got fresh mission" feels wrong. (Also, mission gone just when I leaved chunk, supporting my feelings. :) |
Feasibly, this issue could be used to keep generating a zone until you get something you like. For instance, in a boss tower mission, you could go up to the first boss, see that it's a boss type you don't like, then leave and come back to re-roll your boss! Not a huge issue, and I don't know if anyone would do it, but it still feels weird that you can go back into an abandoned mission at ALL. |
I see "feedback" status here. Is it means anything? |
For secret missions, they are gone and there's an interval between when you can re-attempt it. For the world map ones, this is working as intended; that way you can't just instantly cycle out something that you don't like. And if it's something you DO like, you get more than just the one shot at it. |
