Summary | 0006496: My base just ran away.....
Description | I have been avoiding battlegrounds as actually impossible for a while now, but decided to prove the point and have another go. I was in a non-windstorm area, and few seconds in to the mission i suddenly noticed it was very hard to run in one direction, faintly like i was running against the wind. Then I saw my base walk past me to it's death. I have seen this happen at least once more in my two tests, but the other mission lasted about 4 seconds (literally) before the base was destroyed by a turret so it's possible this always happens..

Wait, you saw the building that is supposed to be behind you go past you? |
Yep, it literally moves. Give me a sec and i shall get a couple of screenshots up. Edit: Done. Two things, 1) It seems to be a reaction to being damaged, otherwise it stays put. 2) the screenshots are a minor example, the one from my initial report had crossed a fair chunk of the map. Edit 2: three things. 3) I'm fairly sure the issue with running speed was either an optical illusion or the game slowing down from being confused. |

Don't the Will-o-wisps "pull" the player towards them? |
Do they? I haven't actually fought any yet but that would explain it, I do seem to recall there being one on the screen, but i was busy running away and being confused. |
Yeah, Will O The Wisps pull you. It might be that they are also pulling the buildings. Josh, can you set up a save that I can use for debugging this? |
That is hilarious. It is definitely the Will-o-The-Wisp, and, the base is moving. The world save should be just before it starts to move. |
For 0.905: * Fixed a bug where gravity well effects could apply to immobile enemy actors (some buildings are actually "actors" rather than static objects to allow them to shoot at stuff, spawn things, etc). Notably, the will-o-the-wisp was exploiting this in battlefield missions to rather overtly take ownership of the player's base. Thanks :) |

Man, this only makes that blooper reel idea sound better and better. |
