This a multiplayer thing, you'll notice that it says that the local chunk is paused not the game. |

I guess. I would expect stuff to still continue to some degree if you pause in a multiplayer game, however if opportunities disappear from under your feet in a single player game while you're paused? Maybe put a note or something when you pause to say so, saying to turn the game off if you actually want to pause. |

Actually, in multiplayer or solo, time stops after 30 seconds of everyone being idle. That would count as just standing there and doing nothing, or pausing, or whatever. |

Having just tested, whilst doing nothing on the overworld map mission countdowns stop after 30 seconds.
But if i pause standing in my settlement, mission countdowns continue no matter how long passes. |

Hmm, there are probably some edge case abilities that are triggering this not to work sometimes -- I had wondered if that would be the case. Most likely the idle state is something we're going to have to work on from time to time for a while, to make sure that it keeps knowing for sure when you're idle. |

I noticed this yesterday after dying in a guardian power created wind shelter mission. I paused after death and tabbed out to report something and then when I tabbed back in, unpaused, and selected a new character the mission was gone. I'm not sure how long guardian powered missions last though, but it couldn't have been more than 5 or 10 minutes on pause. |

Guardian power missions last 14 days, so that would be 170 minutes of gametime. Regular missions last 7 days, so 70 minutes of gametime. |
