Description | I have an AI eye in a system, so I send in some starships and destroy all of the guard posts. but the eye stays around. So I then go in and destroy all the guardians. Nope, still there. Then I go and destroy the command station. Nope, STILL there. So how do I kill it? The blurb clearly states to kill all of the guard posts. This is the second system that this hasn't worked on! At works so I can't check the save, but is there a Stealth Guard Post there? When you check the tooltip of the AI Eye in the system, does it say "1x GP Keeping This Alive" or something similar? |

Loaded the save here. There is a Stealth Guard Post Mk2 in the system somewhere, so this is not a bug. |

There are stealth guard posts? :-S What good are they? Oh well, that would explain why no-one else had reported it. |

The stealth guard posts not only are cloaked themselves, but cloak a certain number of allied (read, AI) ships around it. I don't remember what the cap is on the top of my head, but basically, it like a stationary cloaker starship. It does have a weapon though, so if you get close to it, it will shoot at you and reveal itself. |

Considering the sheer number of reports like this, I think the fact there there is a such thing as a stealth guard post needs to be advertised a little better. Or at least in the case where there is one keeping an AI eye alive. Or you could make it such that stealth guard posts don't keep AI eyes alive, and make stealth guard posts self-destruct when the planet is captured by a human, but I don't see why it should be treated so much differently just because of a somewhat annoying mechanic. |

They already self-destruct when a planet is captured by a human. However, most people don't go and settle a world that has an AI eye still alive. It the normal method I use to remove them, although that will likely change with the Scout Starship change in the next patch. |
