Summary | 0006078: NPC Rescue mission chunk - passages are not always wide enough for NPC to navigate. | ||||
Description | Repro: 1- Begin an NPC rescue mission (cave or building). 2- Attempt to bring the NPC to the entrance/exit. Result: Some percentage of the time (2 out of 7 rescue missions I completed), the NPC is unable to return to the starting point, because there is a one square high section. Expected result: Rooms are not generated in such a manner as to prevent mission completion. Note: Screenshot attached. I present two possible solutions to this problem. One solution is to tinker with room generation until such a room no longer generates. The second, easier solution is to reduce the NPCs collision to a single block (self-cast miniature, maybe?) so they can fit through such a gap. | ||||

Issue still occurs as of 0.580 Screenshot attached. First rescue mission I encountered. The location indicated by arrow is impassable by a height 2 entity. |

Are you sure that's the only way out? Those are allowed to happen, and will frequently, but there should be one way through that is large enough. Just that one screenshot doesn't really answer the question. |

Yes x4000, in the previous instance I was unable to locate an alternate route to circumvent the small passage. I have attached another manifestation of this issue as a screenshot. In this case, the entire region was navigable, but the NPC was unable to even escape the corner in which they spawned. |

Thanks! * Fixed an issue with the underground NPC rescue missions where sometimes the caves would be too small for the NPCs to fit through the passages to the exit. If you see this with interior ones after this release, please let me know. |
