Summary | 0005850: Home command station cost too high for auto repair, assist CTRL option does not account for 0.10 repair cost
Description | If using the "do not assist large projects" CTRL setting for engineers, they will most likely not repair the home command station because it costs 3 333/3 333 crystal and metal per second. I'd recommend this cost be lowered (and seems odd that it was this high). EDIT: also see Ranakastrasz's reply.

Real issue here is that that setting doesnt take into account the 10X lower costs for repairing, and the fact you should probably repair anyway regardless, unless its a broken golem. |
Not to mention, the home command station is important enough to auto-repair PERIOD. No matter what the assist cutoff is, the home command station should always be eligible for auto-repair targeting (short of damage within the last N seconds, of course) Though Ranakastrasz brings up a good point. The auto-assist cutoff does not properly take into account the fact that repairing is cheaper than constructing. |
Bumping this up, as it ideally should be an easy and important fix. |
I have since learned that the base repair cost is actually .25 (though additional adjustments come into play with repair rates and other stuff) Still, it should take this into account. |

This doesn't resolve the main complaint (more on that tonight, probably), but for 5.050: * Fixed a longstanding bug where repairing units with a repair boost (which is most of the ones that can repair) were repairing units faster but still "spending" metal and crystal at the rate they would have if they had no repair boost. The cost difference between repairing with an MRS and with an EngieIII was pretty big. No longer. ** If this causes economic hardship, let us know ;) |
For 5.050: * The Human Home Command Station now costs 1% as much to repair as it used to, so the repair cost falls below the default threshold where engineers won't auto-assist something because it's expensive. Thanks :) |
