| Description | Recently I returned to game after long absence. (Well, sort of. Actually, I am waiting for secret missions. But still. :) And one issue catch my attention: updates. I hadn't even 0.5, so it was LONG way to update. About twenty of updates. Ouch. Actually, I even didn't need it, I could download fresh distributive and start from scratch - there are too many changes anyway to continue old game. But... there is no such thing as "fresh distributive". There is only standard 0.500, and very many updates to it. Is it needs to be so, actually? Honestly, I see no reason of it. Every existing user will receive updates automatically, so why not have full distributive of game, in it's current state, for new users? Are there technical problems with it? | ||||

I expect it's harder to build a complete new package than to release updates, but it would be nice to have checkpoint builds every now and then to avoid this massive update wait on a new installation. |

0.540 also is on the site, not just 0.500. And to download all the updates, it is less to download than reels loading the entire game. We do updates to the installer infrequently, because they waste half a day of my time -- not something we can do frequently. When we hit beta phase 3, we'll be updating the installer. |
