Summary | 0005570: clickable new spell descriptions
Description | When I try to equip a spell and can't, it would be helpful for me to have all the info on how to change that available to me. If I'm missing iron ore, then I'd like to know how to get iron ore, what level/requirements for it to appear, et c. The most logical solution is to have this info available in a tooltip, but right now the spell description is a tooltip. I want it all -- tooltip spell descriptions and tooltip material descriptions. I have an idea on how to do that. If you hover over an spell with missing materials, you get the tooltip. If you click on a spell with missing materials, the screen changes to a spell description page, listing the required materials, which can then have tooltips to describe how to get them.

That's a really good idea -- to make that work all the time, though, we'd definitely need to make it so that learning a new spell requires you to always go through that screen. Otherwise you violate some principles of UI design and really throw players off. But making the confirmation step also let you get the material tooltips and all that would be great. |

Thanks! * The learn-spell and equip-spell crafting screens have been updated so that they no longer have tooltips, but so that they instead: ** Have confirmation popups that appear when you click them. ** Have mouseovers on the materials on these windows, so that you can actually find out where to get the materials without having to go to the planning menu. ** Properly wrap the row of material icons after 10 icons, so that it doesn't get insanely wide on high-tier spells. ** The planning window's crafting grimoire has also been updated to match. |
