DescriptionThe current plan is to give them 4k base range, which would be 7k in game range. That seems a little low IMO.

How about giving them 7k base range (10k in game range), which is about the same or a little less then missile frigates, but still a good deal shorter than their old range.

If needed to keep them from being overpowered at that range, reducing the base damage would be OK in my opinion. Also, reducing its HP may help keep them balanced at that range as well. (Just not as low as it was originally, of course)

If you are worried about them being overpowered at that range, I wouldn't mind at all losing a little bit of damage so they can have this range.

Also, about the range thing, the old base range was 16k (in game range of 19k), significantly higher than the increased range I am proposing.

As such, the balance issues at the old range are nowhere near the issues faced at the range I proposed. But my proposed range is still long enough to be effective as "artillery siege" units.

The old antimatter starship did rather well within the long-range support category. Also, my impressions of siege equipment is more trebuchets and cannons than the ol' ram so I would prefer a siege starship have better range than a fighter.

I wouldn't mind a drop in health and total damage in order to get a little bit more speed on the Siege Starships, only up to about the level of missle frigates. For a game that emphisizes speed and gurellia warfare, having a slow plodding ship like the Siege Starships seems like a conflict of interest.

You were kind of robbed from the crediting, but this is now implemented in 5.024. Close issue?

"Fixed an... interesting omission in the previous version: Plasma Siege Starship base range was supposed to have gone from 16k to 4k, but did not. On further thought, the change was made to 6500/7000/7500 instead (same as mkI/II/III missile frigate).

Since this isn't closed, I'll put this here rather then opening a new ticket.

The Siege Starship description needs updating for patch 5.024, the patch notes say it has gotten a general AOE but the in game description does not reflect this, only describes the Force Field % effect.
