Description | I think this particular cavern, going after the gem on the right is too difficult for the intro mission. You don't want players getting frustrated on their first pass through the game. This passage fills up with skelebot snipers, which then fill up the area with long-persisting flames. The flames are difficult to dodge because of the narrow area. I still die occasionally, and almost always have to warp out to heal. (Maybe that says more about my skills :-). But it's one of the more challenging areas of the game for me in any case. Easiest fix is probably to remove most of the monster nests down that passage. | ||||

Yeah, this is probably true, trash mobs are a good bit harder now than they were when the intro mission was made. |

I've tuned this substantially on the next version, but the moral of that hallway is that it's still really overly tough -- don't go down there if you don't want a challenge. There's more gems, and no monsters, right across the water. I have put in a couple of little platforms to hint at the water being crossable, and I've lengthened that hallway so that you aren't seeing the reward on the minimap. And I put _more_ skelebots/snipers into the hallway, to hopefully emphasize how bad an idea it is to kill that red slime and go after them. |
