Description | We need to discuss the specific design on this some more, but this is a very large outdoor-only ship. For lighting reasons, and really even for just smoothness reasons it should only ever face to the right (no flipping it). It should be really not even a real game entity, just something that is floating there in the background between the two parallax layers (behind the first, but in front of the second one). There should only be one in the chunk, and periodically it fires in a way that preferably we can see small sparks or whatever going up from the ship itself, and then coming down as real and much larger projectiles from the top of the chunk. We'll have to talk about the specifics of this in particular, but this would be the first of our "distance harassment from an enemy that's not an enemy." The only way to destroy the ice pirates would be to do a mission that gets rid of them. Otherwise they would haunt a specific area, harassing it on an ongoing basis. And that, too, we need to talk about the specifics of the design for. | ||||

Keith: IceShard (shot) and IceShardShatter (particle) graphics are now in. I suggest you let me line up their positions and collision boxes, as they will be off to start with and it will be quicker for me to line them up. I had to do them at odd offsets to get them fitting in a sprite dictionary at maximum size/compression ratio. |

Oh, also: there is now an IceShardTiny single-frame particle, that can be used as the nonsimeffect of the shots going up in the background. It's only 16px, so it's very tiny, which should work well with establishing the massive scale of the pirate ship in the background, too. :) |
