Summary | 0005288: Amoeba shots drag on walls
Description | When the amoeba's shots hit a wall/floor/ceiling and change direction, their speed is sometimes massively reduced. Almost like the shot is still trying to travel in its original direction, but one position coordinate(x or y, depending on the barrier) isn't changing. So the total velocity of the shot is heavily reduced instead of its movement vector being updated (even temporarily) to reflect the obstruction.

That's more or less intended, actually. Depending on the angle of when it hits, the spells might stick in one place, they might slide slower or faster, etc. I feel like that's more interesting than just always sliding at the same rate, personally, and it gives players another thing to look at. When I originally noticed this back in alpha it hadn't been intended, but I liked the effect so much that I left it. |
