Summary0005141: Intro mission notes - some bug some balance some other.
DescriptionI had the chance (finally!) to play a good bit over the weekend, and show off the intro to a few people new to AVWW. Liked it! But a variety of small bugs or notes I collected (rather than spam issues, collected here).

-First chunk: Might want to put a note or simply a visual arrow pointing to the black edge to the right letting people know that they need to keep walking to the right to move on. It seems obvious, but had some people thinking they were trapped in that first area.

- Might give the gravestones a bit of glow or sparkle to make it even more obvious to check them out.

-Warp potion location: Put them somewhere a bit clearer, perhaps with note next to them on how they work. Reason: they're off screen. People that need the warp potions due to dying are probably not as good at platformers, and as such less likely to go explore and get them, leading to extra backtracking and making it less fun right off the bat.

-Crafting benches before the settlement seems awkward, since you don't know why you can't craft most things offhand (lack of mats when you first hit them), or have any notes on how crafting works right there.

-The left side passage on the underground tunnel (deepest section where it dead ends) can be quite annoying getting back up, since there are two spawners on the sides of the shaft, and water below. This leads to a rain of skelebots down the shaft with the new respawn after bot in water for x seconds mechanic, making it really tough to go back up. Can be vexing if you have no warp pots especially.

-BUG: might be general bug, not specific to intro mission. When going into the boss room of the underground tunnel portion via the side route, killed bats, boss room was not marked as completed (though I could move forwards through the tunnels). Stopped player from warping though, and caused backtracking. Attached world file.

-Balance: might be general balance, not intro specific, but the summon insect scroll you can make in the intro is extremely powerful. As in one hit killing the skelebot boss. Haven't tried the scroll yet in my older world to know if its just that situation or if its the scroll in general.

Anyways, just a mess of thoughts. I did like it and think its a big step forwards in helping out new players that probably won't read a manual or website before jumping in, but thought it might be worth being extra picky on that section since it is the first look people get.

Is there ever a tombstone telling you to look for the orange indicators for items on the map? That's how I found the warp potions, but I already knew to look for that.
