| Summary | 0005117: Settlements in Lava Flats: Ilari calling wandering NPCs fails | ||||
| Description | When entering a settlement that is in Lava Flats, it is unoccupied and, when standing in front of one of the Ilari, the message that it called a wandering NPC is continuously displayed, but no NPC shows up. I'm speculating this may be due to no NPCs naturally having heat resistance. Other info: The world was generated on build 0.525, so I don't know if the world generation code has changed since then. Personally, I think it would be more fun if the solution would not just be to disallow settlements from occurring in lava areas, but there may be more narrative justification for that. Also, I had left the game running while I filled out the bug report, and the behavior seemed to stop after a certain number of messages. I can't reproduce it further at the settlement I have and can't really practically create and test a number of worlds to hunt for another settlement in a lava area. | ||||

Classified as "Other" since several areas are effected: UI: Message log is spammed with messages of Ilari trying to call wanderers. Audio: The sound effect is also repeatedly played. Gameplay: The settlement remains abandoned. Crash: The game did crash once on a previous version when this was occurring, but I could not reproduce this on the latest build, so it may have been due to other problems which have since been fixed. |

You can find settlements in the lava flats? :o I thought that was impossible. :S I don't imagine it has anything to do with not having heat resistence, temperature doesn't matter in settlements/wind towers. Can you find settlements in the deep too then? Having settlements in the lava flats could have it's practical uses. I wouldn't discount it too readily. |
