Description | I installed the new beta release, and now often my keypresses are not recognized. Movement seems fine, but storm dash works about 50% of the time, select about the same, pause, inventory, all work only erratically. | ||||

There's definitely nothing new lately -- not since beta even started -- with how we're handling key presses. Is it possible that some key is stuck in the down position on your keyboard? Most keyboards will only accept input from about 3 keys at once, as a simple hardware limitation, so if you had some key that is being held down and then were busy running and jumping, that would prevent other keypresses from registering. I've had the exact same thing happen, actually. At times it had seemed as if I couldn't enter the rooms properly, but I figured it was something with how I pressed the key or something. Just now, however, I had to press "p" a dozen times in order to pause the game (although that was an extreme example; most of the times it works the second time I press the key). |

Hmm -- with it happening for two people that is indeed suspicious. I'll look, but I really don't think anything changed there. This is new in 0.532, not seen in any prior version? |

Marked as major because if it's something we can fix, we should. That said, I've been playing for a good bit today, and even more yesterday, and I've not had this problem once. |

As far as I can tell, it all started in 0.532. I haven't played as much lately as I did earlier, but I didn't notice anything in 0.531 at least. |

It's happening for me too, pressed the p button about 20 times before I could actually unpause the game. :S |
