Summary | 0000050: AI: FF-ignore units often attack FF instead of CMD station
Description | http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,6979.0.html This is an issue with the AI logic which I've only observed carefully so far with its control of raid starships, but I am assuming this is a general issue with the logic; the AI tends to attack an FF covering a player command station even with units that are able to shoot and pass through forcefields. When the FF is no longer covering the command station, the AI will being to attack and destroy it. It's reproducible. Very short video showing AI raid starship shooting at FF instead of command station/power plants and such: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HV1dGGVZcYA

Probably the easiest fix is to make FF-ignoring ships all unable to hit force fields at all. They have no need to do so, anyway, and for both the humans and the AI it will save these ships from distraction. |

Given the number of changes in the last two and a half months, it seems quite likely this is fixed. Can anyone confirm one way or the other? |

I am still seeing Raid Starships attacking my forcefields before my command station; It's saved my bacon a few times. EDIT: Also, making force-field ignoring ships unable to attack forcefields would be annoying - especially in the case of Eyebots which are good against forcefields and therefore a decent way to take them down for the rest of your fleet. |

Ok, thanks! * AI ships that are immune to force fields will never now prioritize attacking them over ships under it (this makes raid starships way more dangerous than before in the hands of the AI, incidentally). It was previously simply a property being mis-applied on some ships that later got ff immunity belatedly. Now it automatically removes that flag for anything with the immunity. |
