Summary0004881: Settlement Tunes/Sound
DescriptionI was thinking it would be a nice addition to settlements if they had special music depending on what time period it's from. So the ice age settlement might have a calm mellow track while a skelebot junkyard (I haven't found one but I'm assuming they exist) settlement could have a techno/electro beat to it.

Plus maybe the settlements could have some background sounds like chatter or things being moved around to make it sound like there's more things going on.

You know, I think that makes a lot of sense! Right now we're doing no music in exterior areas (bosses aside), and the prior "town" themes are being used inside buildings in the abandoned towns.

But doing some tracks for the actual player settlements makes a lot of sense to me.

That's cool with me! Perhaps something a little more subdued or subtle though, so that it's not annoying. This could be something that can definitely have variations as well. Same melody/theme, but with slight variation in instrumentation for when you come back to a settlement. That way the player is going crazy with the same stuff over and over when you come back to a settlement.

That way the player is NOT going crazy*

I think that makes a lot of sense -- and perhaps making the tracks a little bit longer so that they don't loop as often, too. Something more ambient, almost, like some of the AI War stuff.

Awesome! Ambient tracks are easy too. A lot less editing and nit picking.

Yeah, I figured you'd like that as a change of pace from all this intense melody-driven work, anyway. :)

I really like listening to this track PVega8. Thanks for making it! It really adds to the mood when I'm in town.
