Summary0004840: Still can't place platforms while tab-targeting
DescriptionThis is a bug that got reported and resolved back in Alpha, it looks like, but I'm still getting it in the most recent version of the game. I tried to reopen that report, but it hasn't got any response after a while so I guess I did that wrong.

At any rate, when I am tab targetting the game tries to place platforms where the enemy I'm targetting is, which is not very useful if it works and doesn't work if the enemy is far offscreen. This is a problem in boss fights, where I am generally targetting the boss and want to place platforms while he's offscreen and I have a moment.

Yeah, you can't reopen someone else's issue by hitting the status to reopened; we don't see that. You have to hit the reopen button, and only the submitter can do that. So making the separate issue is definitely the way to go -- thanks for the report on this.

Okay, I'm not able to duplicate this at the moment. This is in 0.527. It's possible that some other change has since fixed this, but when I get into a boss fight, tab-target the boss, have the boss offscreen, and then try to place platforms either by using them off the mouse or keyboard controls, it places them right where I expect.

Just tried the right-clicking of the inventory slot to check that case, and it was working there, too.

Will be curious if you're seeing this as fixed in 0.527, or if you have a specific way you are triggering the platforms.

Nope, still doesn't work. Just updated and checked again; if I'm tab-targeting the platform either doesn't appear or comes in completely the wrong place. I'm using the mouse to aim and then keyboard to place the platform. I've tried with a few different combinations of settings, nothing seems to help.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll definitely look at this in my next round of bugfixing in the next few days.

Personally I always get platforms to place, but they always place just above the head and a little to the side I'm facing. See the screenshot for an example.
