Summary0004708: Take shields off the the global spell cooldown.
DescriptionShields add a lot to combat, but it's often frustrating running up against the global cooldown when I'm trying to shield block against projectiles that are too quick to dodge.

Some degree of global cooldown is necessary for multiplayer to have a chance of working like singleplayer; but it's not that it wouldn't work at all to have some things not be on the GCD so I guess either way.

The GCD on shields make them hard to use offensively on things like amoebas too. Ideally, it'd be nice to pop the shield, jump in and get a couple shots off

Oh, I don't think you're thinking of the GCD, then, but rather the shared cooldown between same-colored spells. Iirc the actual "global" cooldown is only 0.5 seconds, which I assume would not interfere with you jumping in and shooting something?

I agree with Keith, is it possible to fire off a spell of one color, and a shield of another? If not this is a bug.
