Description | I'd favor having a bit of chance for choosing gem veins in underground dungeons, maybe 60-70% the region's usual type and some chance of something else, with maybe more balanced chances as you go lower --- when you break into a new spell level and want to go upgrade a lot of spells, I think it would be more interesting to get the different gems by delving deeper and deeper into one cavern and seeing the lower levels rather than brushing the surface of four or five caverns in different regions. As it is, I keep wanting to go down to the bottom of a cavern system where you've described lava and whatnot, but it doesn't seem like there's much reason to. | ||||

Well each region actually has two gem types, a primary one and a secondary one. There is a 75% chance of the primary spawning in a gem vein and a 25% chance of the secondary type spawning. In case you weren't aware. |

Ahh...that is good information c4sc4. Thank you. I do wonder if this "issue" should be revisited though. Like maybe 75% of the gem being a primary, and 25% of it being _any_ other gem type. The reason I suggest this is because the current system seems to put a damper on my willingness to explore deeper. Once I have enough of the two gem types of the region, there is less incentive for me to dig deeper. But I am only civ level 15, so maybe there is other non-gem goodness to find in the really deep deeps that I don't know about. |
