Summary0004390: Queue tasks for time unit use
DescriptionTime units seem interesting, but a bit fiddly at the minute as I'll often see reported people with time units left, but its too few to do any action, or having to repeatedly check back on characters to see if they have the time units to do a particular task. Makes it a minor annoyance and tends to make me feel like "I still can't do that" rather than "Oh what can I do now?"

My thought is to let the player tell a character what to do, if they not already assigned to another task, and have some sort of in progress indication to that task. Then when the character has the time units to do that task it automatically gets fulfilled, and then they appear as being free once more.

Having an action queue isn't really something I want, but partial progress would be ok for a lot of things.

Well, I meant a better mechanic for using TUs in general, not necessarily something this specific.

Alternately, allow characters to pool their time units. One guy can help another guy and together they can build that lumber mill. Not sure that that's the way you want to go either, but some sort of streamlining would be appreciated. I agree that right now it's awfully fiddly to go through the list of inhabitants and check time units against things that you want to get done.

Given that settlements will be taken out of our hands, I suppose our need to handle timeunits will go away as well.
