Summary0004345: White-colored Enemies on White Background Are Difficult To Distinguish
DescriptionWhen playing the game, it is incredibly difficult to differentiate enemies from the background when playing snowy levels. The Skelebot, in particular, is extremely difficult to make out from snowy backgrounds. Anything that could differentiate the enemy from the background (maybe even a simple shadow) would help immensely.

Linking this to 0004311 which is also a contrast issue (albeit a more specific one).

Ultimately the skelebots aren't really going to be in the snowy areas much. But, having enemies that are stealthy in various environments doesn't strike me as a horrible thing, either. If you think about an FPS game or similar, a lot of excitement comes from guys hiding in the trees and sneaking around that way. With a 3D game the only way that happens is if enemies are camouflaged somewhat.

I like the idea of stealth enemies, but I'd like them to be deliberate rather than accidental. Currently almost all the enemies in snow regions are hard to see, which I don't think is the intention.

I haven't had any trouble seeing them at all, which is interesting -- the backgrounds tend to be blue or dark gray, so the enemies show up really starkly against that, actually. Only against the trees do they blend at all, but as they move past the trees the motion seems really noticeable to me. That's just me personally, obviously.

I find it much more problematic when I'm moving. I've pretty much given up looking for them if I'm crossing a lot of snow, and treat a certain amount of melee damage from running through them as the cost of crossing their territory.

I do the same as jerith: I plow right through them on levels because many times I don't even notice them. It's a slight annoyance too because sometimes there are many Skelebots on a single level, or there are Skelebots really close to each other, and you just don't see them.

Okay:

* Icicle leapers now have a bit of shadowing behind them, making them a lot easier to see against white backgrounds.
** Additionally, the base skelebot graphics have been altered to be higher-contrast with light backgroudns as well.

Lightning Espers in the white walled houses are nearly impossible to see. Not sure if that's worth reopening this for, but they are practically invisible in certain parts of the wall.
