Summary | 0003775: For later: implement a "bestiary" of some sort.
Description | Where players can see the stats about any enemies that they have encountered. This will be notable so that they can plan the best course of attack for enemies.

I like this idea and I think it would be an interesting thing to unlock thru the settlement building minigame by build a hunter's guild and assign a hunting master NPC to it. |
I like this idea but think that it would work better if you discovered the stats of monsters ala ADoM and Angband. ie. You need to encounter and fight them to learn about them. I agree in that this seems like something that can wait. |
Arnos' idea sounds like a good way to do it, I agree with it. Definitely can wait, though. |
I think a combination of Ixiohm's idea and Arnos' idea would be best. As a side note... The 'Hunting Master' NPC could 'Tame' monsters, turning them into a Unit which could be used on the strategic map. This could be in the same way as NPC's are used now, maybe even send them to a region with a Ghost to help you fight them, things like that. Or (if I'm right about the game's future) during 'strategic battles'. |
Would be really nice if the bestiary contained pictures and information as to where the beasts can be encountered. For example, I have no idea whether I've ever met an Urban Predator and how such a thing would look. |
I like this idea! Aside from the stats perhaps also a bit of flavour text for each creature as well? Something like a sentence or two describing what it is and its time period of origin? |
Excellent idea, and quite helpful for anachronism missions, if the home biome for a creature is included. It would also be nice to have a kill counter attached to each creature, I suppose. |
A Bestiary would be nice, and its a feature that I'm used to seeing in lots of games. I don't always use then for information, but I do like knowing stats, like "Number Killed",and also "Times Killed by". Flavor text to describe monsters would be nice, and a small touch that's appreciated. The Bestiary can also go further in depth, with listing "Most\Least Used Spell", "Creature Most\Least Killed". The amount of stats to track could be almost infinite. |
My favorite implementation of a bestiary is the Almanac from Plants vs. Zombies. I'd look forward to reading the zombie description as soon as I encountered one. |
