Have a look at their cost, buildtime, etc. These guys are one of those units that do not upgrade linear. (Doesnt say this is as it should, but it could.) Do also note that mk3-5s can teleport, they are not the 'sitting ducks' mk1-2s are. Those could actually use the armor where you can always instantly get the mk3-5s out of a hot situation. |

More importantly, mk3, and I think mk5, Also have cloaking, so like all other cloaked ships I know of, they replace all of their armor with a cloaking generator, because it probably disrupts the cloaking field or something. What I really want to know is why T2 is just a scaled up T1, rather than adding cloaking or teleportation. I mean,T3 suddenly has cloaking AND teleportation right away, instead of adding one to the T2 then add the other to the T3, so you can have semi-combat engineers at T2, rather than HAVING to unlock t3 for that effect. Teleporting would help, as would cloaking, since both would help significantly more than some psuedo extra health (dies in 2-3 hits anyway) and slight speed boost, main effect is increasing engineer cap... |
