Summary | 0029561: Suggestion - Separate buildings in build menu by internal robotics
Description | Description: Current categories are severely outdated for the type of city building that is currently implemented. E.g. When I unlock a new building which is using a neuroweaver type of robotics I have to look in military category to see which buildings I might consider for deconstruction. Military contains: - Neuroweaver - Android Drop-Shuttle - Avionics Core Where if I wanted to build repair spiders which are using 5CM Spiders I'd have to change categories from: "Support" to: "Common" to find Slurry Spiders which I wouldn't know that I need to do if I didn't have experience with the title. Suggestions: - Divide build menu categories by robotics type instead of vague functionality

That's not possible. 1. There are far too many categories of internal robotics for those to work as the categories on this menu, and more will be added over time. There are presently about two dozen internal robotics types, and those won't be the only ones ever used. 2. The categories on this menu are designed for the things I want to put into them later, not just for what is there now. However, I am doing a few things related to your broader goal. First one: * The search text on the build menu now also searches the name of the internal robotics, making it possible to find things that use the same kind by typing. |
|
Maybe expand the structures with complaints sidebar to group by robotics then? If passive buildings were divided by robotics and then an ability to search for either name of building or robotic I think that could help. With and added benefit of being able to jump to building. |
|
The second part: * The build menu sidebar is now a bit taller, and there is a new dropdown at the bottom. That dropdown says "any internal robotics" at the start, but you can switch it to any specific kind of internal robotics to see jobs that are competing with one another. ** This cuts across categories, so you don't have to select a specific category, or "All" in order for this to give you complete results. * On the build menu, the search text now cuts across categories and gives you all matching entries, without you first having to click to the "All" category. |
