Some androids have the ability to blend in by default. Those who don't need to use an equipment slot, hence the clothing element.

Ok, that's about what I thought. So why does the security jacket say "grants obscured by clothing", rather than saying it grants the ability to blend in? Why is one effect being given two different names and icons?

It's particularly confusing because the Technician can blend in, but can also wear a security jacket that grants it Obscured by Clothing, which overwrites Blending In, so you think they do different things, when actually they don't and there's no advantage to putting an unmodified security jacket on your Technicians.

These are mechanically the same, but it's more clear to be more explicit about what is happening.

Also, in theory if technicians were ever to stop blending in because people are super suspicious of them now, then the hoodies would still work.

My feeling is that it's confusing to give the abilities - which do functionally the same thing - the same name. If I look at my Technician and see it has "Blending In", and I have the option to give it a jacket that gives it "Obscured By Clothing", the game doesn't make it clear to me that this is not in any way an upgrade.

(ignore previous comment, it was made at 2AM and I'm tired)

My feeling is that if there are two abilities which do exactly the same thing, they should have the same name and in fact just BE the same ability. There is nothing, to my knowledge, that interacts differently with "Blending In" and "Obscured By Clothing"; they behave identically in all circumstances. Making them two separate abilities with their own names and icons is just confusing.

If I look at my Technician and see it has "Blending In", and I have the option to give it a jacket that gives it "Obscured By Clothing", the game doesn't make it clear to me that this is not in any way an upgrade.
