Summary | 0028703: Stuck after nanoseed
Description | Message log says I completed the investigation, my tasks in the top-right are greyed-out and struck-through. My units no longer have the investigation ability available (greyed-out.) I waited a turn thinking that might progress things, but it does not. I haven't played the prologue in an eternity (over a week) and I suspect I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure out how to proceed. Will attach save.

I was able to progress that save by just skipping a couple of turns (with Zero). I'm not sure what's causing the delay between getting the nanoseed and the build menu unlocking |

We did a little investigating in the discord chat. It turns out that I just needed to wait another turn or two. I did not realize that it was possible to complete the nanoseed investigation and not have the bunker researched. Further detail: I completed the investigation in 2 actions. I remember it being longer (like 6 actions ish?) when I did the prologue a week or so ago. I'm guessing that whatever allowed the shorter investigation allowed this issue to pop up. While it's not technically a bug, there should probably be some effort to failsafe this against new players. Perhaps taking the time to point out the research area with a big yellow required-click on the research area and a note along the lines of: " > You now know *what* you need to do but you still need to figure out *how* to go about it, via research. > If you have other ongoing research, this may take a few turns to complete. " Alternately, the AI has already thought about how to use it quite a bit, given that this is the entire objective of the investigation. So perhaps one easy fix would be to have the bunker unlock immediately? |

Thanks! * In the prologue, if you get the gang guns, then there's a good chance that you can't advance to building a bunker in a timely fashion if you don't intentionally prioritize A Home Of Your Own. This gets quite confusing, but it doesn't affect people who get the gang weapons after unlocking the investigation, or who don't get them during the prologue at all. ** I've adjusted it to simply unlock A Home Of Your Own immediately if it's ready to be researched, to prevent this sort of thing from happening. |
