Summary0028430: Confusion: First Combat: Did I just loose an android?
DescriptionThis happened during the first fight in prologue.

I was a bit confused by the enemy turn playing out all at once.

Although I was aware of the "Enemy attacks planned" in the upper right corner - and even looked at it - I think I did not really realize what I was seeing, causing me to exit the view before really understanding what was going on.

When the enemy turn then played out I was a bit overwhelmed.
Then there was an explosion-like noise and I guessed that I might have lost an android.
I was not sure, though, and also not firm enough with the UI yet to check once my next turn started.

(I also might have to mention that I am playing on a laptop screen at 1366x768 - so there really only is so much that I can look at at the same time)

I think stuff like the following would have helped me:

a) Some prompt/pop-up when ending my turn to really take the time to look at the enemy attack prediction and understand it (if there is a machine journal message with regard to this I ight have missed it between some others)

b) Some kind of popup at the start of my turn that tells me the result of what just happened.

Just tossing some ideas around, I hope you can follow me on what my problem was....

Perhaps an option to slow combat/enemy movements down and have the camera focus on them similarly to a Civ game would help?

+1 on the slower combat idea. Having it play out quickly would be fine, but effectively instantaneously just confuses.

Another +1 for slower combat, the near instantaneous enemy movements was one of the main glaring issues to me. I understand it helps speed things up, but at least a game settings combat speed toggle option, or better yet an option to replay enemy moves would be nice.

You can slow them down via the Visual Speed setting on the System menu (gears in the top bar/Esc) Even if you drop it down to minimum though it will still all play out simultaneously, and as far as I am aware, *needs* to.

Having the camera focus on where the fighting is going I don't think would really work, because you can have a variety of battles happening at the same time at different places in the city.

Seeing what happened over the course of the turn is available via the Event Log (top right toolbar, M). This is one of the hotkeys that you are initially informed of when given the controls (under the 'these are some handy ones' text).
