This is by design, but I'm open to feedback on it. Basically, when you're in something that is searching for a specific building type, it gets rid of all the things that are not that type, and shows only the things that are.
For the investigations that only have a few kinds of target, like the one you have there, making this not work that way is probably preferable.
For the one where it's showing you tons of stuff like in the prologue investigation, it's probably important for performance on lower-end machines, and just general clarity a bit. |

This was the prologue investigation, I'm right about to finish it and I was thinking ahead about where I should place my tower, I didn't want it near skyscrapers because I wanted more space to build and less visual blockers near my buildings. It was a bit disorienting and did feel like the interface was bugged. Maybe the earlier parts of the investigation would have been harder to see if the cityscape had been present though. Since this is only during investigations which don't occupy that much time, I'd say it's not a big deal one way or the other personally. |

Ahhh, okay. Right, so you're at the point where most of the buildings have disappeared because you cleared them. Okay, so it's confusing even there. Noted. I think I can just leave the default buildings alone, and add in the new ones, in that case. |

The new shift to the investigation being a lens now makes it way more clear why this is happening, and it is for the sake of general visibility. |
