Description | It looks like some of the Fallen Spire stuff is committing the fairly major sin of not being cleaned up correctly when quitting to the game menu. The observed example is that you can get spire debris Reproduction: 1. Start a new Fallen Spire game. 2. fast forward to the first relic, take it and build a city. 3. pause immediately, and save the game if you wish. 4. Quit to menu. 5. Now start a new game that still has Fallen Spire as a faction. You can change other settings if you wish. Note that Spire Debris will spawn immediately - it's the debris from the city you just built in the first game. Attached are saves with a relic ready (Relic Ready), a save immediately after building a city that you can load (No Dragon), in order to immediately skip to step 4, and a pre-contaminated save that can be loaded directly to observe the debris spawning when it shouldn't. (Crossgame start.) This issue in of itself is relatively obscure (although potentially game-ruining since it spawns in spire battleships, it's right at the start of the game, so... eh.) But, it does seem to indicate that something is very, very wrong with at least one data/script/environment/whatever cleanup phase. | ||||

A small note: I have seen other examples of weird cross-game stuff before, but this is the first time I've had a reproducible case. |
