|Summary||0027534: Elderlings maturing early with little aip|
|Description||(This was discussed on arcen discord 12th July Necromancer hangout)|
I found that elderlings were maturing into mid/high versions very early into the game at <=80 aip
This misled me into thinking elderlings were more of a problem than they should be.
Further investigation using watch all planets showed high levels of elderling maturity across the map and I was told that these elderlings were unusually strong
This was played on the Turf War quickstart, i think I selected Challenger campaign type

Ok, it does seem related to this, you can close this if you want, but there is something of note. Challenger allows them to appear as a different tier of elderling, rather than just accellerated growth. As far as i understood by chatting with strategic sage, elderlings would normally retain a cap of maturity, limiting them to young versions at low aip, challenger raises this by about a stage i guess, or maybe uncaps it?
If this is intended, feel free to close this issue.
I wasn't aware in that initial discussion that it was a Challenger game (or if that was mentioned I forgot). Unless something has changed, playing on Humanity Ascendant is recommended for Necromancer and Challenger+ are not officially supported.
I didnt think of it until I was grabbing info for the game to post here, otherwise, yeah, i apologized for the mismatch of information
though to be fair, i was trying to find out anything that contributed to elderling growth over time, and the challenger banner definitely qualifies for that, both of us might have realised it if it passed our thoughts at the time.
