Description | I've observed this with stationary tractors as well, but the example save uses tractor beam drones. The issue is that, when stacks are involved, at least, tractor beam units don't seem to respect the limit on how much stuff they should be able to tractor. In the given saves you can see the drones regularly grab far more units than the 15 that should be their limit. In grabbed, a drone is holding a total of 53 stacked units instead of the 15 it should be allowed, and it's spread across more than 2 stacks, so it's not just grabbing one extra stack and then stopping. While you're looking at this it might also be worth looking at whatever issue it is that causes multiple tractor beam units to grab the same enemy. I don't know if that's only visual or not, but if it's not, that a bug too. (It's probably what causes units to get massively tossed by tractors sometimes.) While I'm speculating, I wonder if that's the result of a change intended to let multiple reverse tractor ships grab the same target that's having side-effects. EDIT: Puffin came to this conclusion. Puffin noted in discord ( https://discord.com/channels/240637654717300736/242012213580136448/989557934965022750 ) that this is probably related to something from 0.715, the very initial stacking implementation. But it's certainly not my impression that the grab counts of tractor units are balanced with this in mind. |
