Summary | 0027472: Drones shouldn't die when their Carriers do
Description | I think it's pretty self-explanatory, but I think that Carriers really ought to have just the tiniest bit of a more lasting impact in a fight by making it so that their drones don't instantly die when they do. Especially on worlds full of Carrier Guardians, rushing the Guardians even if they've deployed all their forces makes the fight vastly easier because suddenly you have a whole nth of the AI forces gone that might've otherwise been able to at least slow your assault. It also would make Carrier/Drone relationships more distinct from Ancestor/Progenitor ones; Ancestor/Progenitor are intentionally set so that all the Ancestors die when their Progenitor does. Drones are already set to naturally decay when they're on a different planet than their Carrier, so why not make it so this happens instead when the Carrier dies?

This part of the codebase is very fragile. I agree it makes intuitive sense and should work this way, however. |

The current behaviour is not going to change. It's a limitation of how drones are implemented |
