But wouldn't the AI quickly find something to give an attack order to their units? The units distracted by the rally post would only be distracted for a second or two. They probably won't even make it to the post before the AI gives it a new order.
Could be nifty if you can get one on an enemy planet though. |

^ That
Being able to rally the AI "away" from a gate would be nice, now I use rallypoints called 'transports' for that purpose :) |

i was thinking that they idle at the rally point and do nothing untill they where attacked or in range. as it be like saying to ur ships come here every time ship given order. instead of orders conflicting it should override orders from % ships instead of making them attack command station wait come here rinse repeat. i do see ur point thus it might be more usefull on ai planet when not much is going on be excellent against patrolling units to tell them to go back to an planet and idle

So stuff assigned to it will be FORCED to go to it, whether the AI "wants" to give those units orders or not? The only way they could leave the post is if those ships are aggravated?
How is the AI supposed to counter that, especially considering that they would be perma-cloaked in your description? What is to stop human players from intentionally never attacking these trapped units and thus permanently putting a decent percentage of AI ships out of their way with nothing the AI can do about it?

what ever works if ai can move units when it reach rally post then yes but units have to atlease get to post before moving again. |
