Description | Hi Chris, In our latest multiplayer game last night, we noticed that the client doesn't always see the incoming wave notifications for their planets but the host always does. There is also an issue where the client's ships sometimes disappear completely (we were attacking an AI planet which this happened) but they re-appeared after a few seconds (it just made the second player completely in the dark when it comes to seeing how the battle is going). I was running as the host and noticed that I'm seeing two notifications whenever I upgrade a tech as well (which is not a big deal but I'm not sure if it's a symptom of another problem). Last issue (which might not be an issue), the second player (on the client) was hacking a spire relic and once the hack completed the relic completely disappeared and we didn't see the spire city piece anymore... this worked fine when I did it on the host. Thanks! * At last, seem to have fixed a general multiplayer error that was initially having clients get "corrupted seeming" game commands, but really was a matter of those having been partly put back in the pool already. Essentially this was a client-only threading issue, and related to how we used a pair of rotating queues. ** Instead of using a pair of rotating queues, it now uses a single queue, and then a feeder working list, and this dodges the timing issues entirely (and is just as efficient). ** This particular bug was what was causing the flood of errors on some MP clients some of the time recently (the flood of errors was actually good, because it meant that we were finding out about the issue rather than executing malformed gamecommands). |
