Description | Just did a quick peak at the latest build and noticed something I'd not encountered before. Not sure if this is 'by-design', but I noticed that Tesla Torpedoes coming from a frigate seem stuck in pursuit mode once 'attack-move' or 'pursuit' is selected. I've tried selecting/unselecting (re: hitting 'x' / 'v') to disenage pursuit, but the selection remains in red and they continue to enage targets in pursuit mode. Is this a bug? | ||||

Those are "ships that are bullets," and those are always in pursuit mode no matter what you do. They are fired from a drone gun, and will only live until they go hit their target, usually. They're a subclass of even regular drones. |

Ah I see. The issue I was mentioning is more to do with the fact that once they've aquired a target (and the target is destroyed) the remainder just seek out (what seems random) any other target to go after. It kind of made a surgical strike hard to pull off without setting off other ships/guards on the planet. I've not used Torpedo Frigates in a while now, and I could have sworn they never did type of thing before, but that might be because you fixed 'pursuit mode' since the last time I played a game with them on. Now that I know it is 'by design' I'll probably pass on using them in raiding fleets, because on higher levels they don't play tactically well under that type of play style. |
